Fedral Tax Credits For Energy Star Windows Have Expired.
On December 17, 2010, President Obama signed the "Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act" extending the Bush tax cuts that features a tax credit for Energy Star qualified windows (and skylights) and exterior doors. The highlights were:
- All Energy Star qualified windows, skylights and exterior doors are eligable. Products must be installed in a customer's existing primary residence.
- The tax credit will be 10% with a limit of $200 for qualifying windows (and skylights) and $500 for qualifying exterior doors.
- Qualifying products must be placed into service from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011
Although the federal tax credits have expired your new windows when ordered with the high performance Energy Miser glass option will pay for themselves in energy savings and then go on saving you money year after year.
